More great news!

After Amazon.com was kind to take down the iUniverse crappy version of my book, they put up the link for the correct and awesome version of my book. It just went up today. Books are available despite the notice on the listing. I know...I just bought one.:)

To purchase my book through Amazon.com

Unfortunately, for people in Canada and the UK you'll have to wait as Amazon is still in the process of taking down the iUniverse version and putting up the Dark Dragon Publication version.:)

Also, my book is available through
Createspace

Of course, if you want a signed copy you have to get it through me.;P

The Good and The Bad

Today I received a call from one of the organizers for "Word On The Street" here in Toronto. I was so thrilled! I was told in February that the list for the Authors in the Writers Block was full up so I didn't plan on going. But today I got the call that someone canceled and the organizers still had my name on the list. Of course i jumped at the chance. Who wouldn't. Word On The Street - Toronto has about 600,000 people coming to it.

My Marketing Goddess is also arranging a 'Picnic in the Park' for me to have a picnic lunch with my fans at Word On The Street, where I'll do some readings from my book 'Angel of Death: Book One of the Chosen'. More info will be forthcoming.

I'm also getting more and more excited about my Book Launch Party on July 5th. I'm a week and a half away and there is so much to do! It's so exciting!

Book sales are going well and more local independent booksellers are taking my book. This is just great.

Also online sales are going well and the signed numbered copies are going fast. If you want one best to order it soon because they will be gone after the Book Launch. To order.

My publisher has done some great things for me, least of all is getting my book up and running on Createspace so folks can purchase the book in USD through them as well and they will be getting Amazon to sell it too in the next couple of weeks. I'll make sure the post goes up about that when it happens. The only thing is that they aren't signed.

On to the topic of internet sales of my book -

Do NOT purchase my book through Amazon (.com/.ca/.uk/etc) or Barnes and Noble if it says that the publisher is iUniverse. Do NOT purchase the book through iUniverse either. The quality of the book is absolutely HORRIBLE, ILLEGIBLE and is not worth the paper it is printed on. The ISBNs for the iUniverse fiascos are under the ISBNs 978-144-013-5521 (6x9 trade paperback) and 978-144-013-4454 (hard cover). Amazon is in the process of taking it down by my request and Barnes and Noble have been notified to take it down too.

ONLY books with the following ISBN 9780981196503 by Dark Dragon Publications on either Amazon or Createspace should be purchased or purchasing it through the publisher at www.thechosenchronicles.com will ensure that you have a legitimate copy.

If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to respond to this.

Bitten By Books Review is IN!

16/06/09

My review from Bitten By Books is in! Check it out! http://bittenbybooks.com/?p=8238

Karen Dales in her debut offering has written a poignant and epic tale of life and its constant challenges to both the human body and psyche. She writes of the hardships that our forbearers had to prevail against in those times of hardship, prejudice and superstition.

The boy had never known anything but the love of Auntie, the woman who cared for him and kept him from all human eyes. He only knew he was different than the others he had seen while hiding from anyone who came to the humble shack. The boy’s albino looks kept him from appearing totally human, giving him fae features. His name was even a mystery as he had never been given a proper name, only the name of the fey creature those who had espied him on rare occasions had given him: Gwyn ap Nudd.

The prequel to Angel of Death is the Chronicle of the Changling which introduces us to the boy’s life. His birth, his abandonment, his life with Auntie, his unknowing relationship with his father, his meeting of his mentor and Chooser, Father Notus, and his first brush with the dark forces give us incite to the man now known as the Angel.

Angel of Death continues with the Chooser Father Paul and his Chosen, now only known as the Angel, back in England. There is something poisoning the Chosen who now call themselves Vampire, and the Mistress of the City has forced Angel’s hand in compelling him to find out what and who is causing this spreading disease which is tainting the blood of mortals, killing the Chosen who feed on them unsuspectingly. Angel’s hand is further forced to take on partners to help him in his search: Fernando, a cocky Portuguese noble who is very brash and the lovely Scottish maid, Jeanie Stuart, who has pined for the Angel to notice her for years.

The trio find themselves traveling to France to search out the conspirators in the poisoning of their food supply and subsequent extinction. While on their quest, they find love, friendship and truths which lead them back to where they started from.

This novel is a brilliant example of good overcoming and prevailing against evil and prejudice. I must say this tale was an emotional ride of literary genius, both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. I will be watching and waiting for Ms. Dales’ next chapter in the life of the Angel.
